Dartmouth 65.5kW case study

This is phase one of a large scale project in Dartmouth working alongside Cobra Energy.

Cobra Energy commissioned us to supply the solar PV system for a new build marina site. As part of a turn key service we were also asked to install the goods as well.

To keep a sleep look on the newly built buildings our customers client chose an all black JA Solar module. 208 JA Solar 315W modules fully optimised with SolarEdge were installed on a bespoke mounting system.

The ensure the warranty of the roof remained intact our technical design team worked with the roof manufacturer and our customer to find a standing seam roof bracket that we could then use a base to mount our TRIC solar PV racking to.
The arrays aren’t directly south facing so optimisation using SolarEdge had been specified by our customer and the end client. This optimisation system ensures that solar arrays work to the best that they can at all times of the year. The inverters are also SolarEdge as part of the optimisation system. Two 27.6kW SolarEdge inverters are mounted internally and will manage the solar arrays.

Due to the distance away from our offices our installation team worked hard on the project, pulling out all the stops to complete the roof part of the project as quickly as possible despite horrendous weather and adhering to COVID-19 protocols on site. This, combined with other projects occurring at the same time, meant over a month away from home and families in the midst of lockdown.

We’re looking forward to completing other stages of this project as they continue. Keep an eye on our case studies page for updates on how this project progresses!
